For years men and woman have swooned over Ted Baker quirky prints and modern cuts, while the identity of Ted Baker remained a mystery. Is there really a Ted and what’s his story?
The real Ted Baker’s name is Ray Kelvin and he opened his first men’s shirt shop in Glasgow in 1987. He shuns the press refusing to have his photo taken; he prefers to uphold the pretense that there really is a "Ted". Kelvin was apprehensive about lending his own name to the brand in fear of the worst-case scenario, but after 25 years of expanding his sole men’s shirt shop to a global fashion empire, clearly those fears have had no merit! Ted, Ray, Mr. Kelvin, who ever you really are; you have reached us here at Gotstyle Distillery and we are fans!
Ted Baker's Spring 2013 line-up is delightfully feminine. We are always amused by Ted’s take on modern femininity and use of prints and colour. This season is highlighted by a selection of watercolour floral flirty dresses and vintage inspired gowns and jumpsuits, demonstrating why fans from range from Kate Middleton to Kate Moss.
